The importance of briefs, communication and templates

Briefs – they are the bane of any developer.

How can developers get around these roadblocks if the author has no clue what he or she wants in functionality or design?

There are authors who are absolutely great at creating a brief, and there are those who need a helping hand & a handy template or two. I’ve found developers, especially developers doing eLearning interactives always need to build up a catalog of ‘best use’ templates.

Not only do templates help authors focus more on content, it lets the developer focus on giving much needed extra polish and tweaks.
